Details:
This Bratwurst comes from Thuringia which is located in the heart of Germany. For the true Thuringian, the “Thüringer Bratwurst” is not just a food, it embodies an attitude to life. The bratwurst is a Thuringian specialty that is perfect for any barbecue. They are traditionally prepared on a charcoal grill. Simply place the sausages on the hot grill and let them brown on all sides. Besides the BBQ, you can also fry the sausages with some oil on medium heat in a frying pan.
The “Thüringer Bratwurst” is different from the Classic German Bratwurst because it has a high proportion of lean pork shoulder, which makes the sausage a little bit chunkier. It is used as a substitute for the bacon and counts to at least half of its ingredients, if not more.
In Thuringia, the bratwurst is traditionally served in a bread roll and plenty of mustard (e. g. Bautz’ner mustard). Alternatively, you can enjoy the “Thüringer Bratwurst” with German Sauerkraut (fermented cabbage) and potato salad. Potato salad may be substituted with fried or boiled potatoes as a side dish.
Our “Thüringer Bratwurst” is produced locally in Kaohsiung from pork and features a mix of natural herbs and spices including salt, pepper, garlic, caraway seeds, marjoram, onions, and mustard.
