Details:
Fun fact: Sauerkraut is the German word for “sour cabbage” but did NOT originate in Germany. It has been invented 2,000 years ago in China and was brought to Europe in the 16th century.
It was and still is a highly popular food around the world because of its fantastic preservation and nutritional profile. Salt is added to the cabbage to activate Lacto-Fermentation. During fermentation, thousands of tiny “Lactobacillus” bacteria convert the natural sugar present in the cabbage into lactic acid.
Sauerkraut is considered a “superfood” because it is rich in vitamins C and K, iron, and fiber and naturally contains healthy gut bacteria called probiotics. The latest enhances your digestive system by optimizing your gut flora.
Our “German Sauerkraut” is based on a traditional German recipe and is completely handmade. It consists of only two ingredients: Fresh Taiwanese cabbage and Himalaya rock salt. The result is a fresh Sauerkraut that is crunchy, slightly acidic, yet sour, and rich in flavor.
German Sauerkraut goes perfectly with our delicious and authentic German sausages or Kassler Smoked Ham.
