Katjes jes, jes, jes: Many people hear the melody when they read or hold Katjes in their hands. It all began in 1910 with a licorice recipe from Sicily. Xaver Fassin brought it back from the island, and his son Klaus Fassin used it to produce little licorice kittens called “Katjes Kids”. Katjes means “little kitten” in Dutch, which is why our oldest product has retained its distinctive cat shape to this day.

What luck: because to this day, our Katjes Kids made of spicy hard licorice are among the most popular products in our vegan family. We are especially pleased that our absolutely unique product was already a total trendsetter back then. Because our Katjes-Kids has always been made without animal gelatine – 100% vegan licorice.

Ingredients:

Brown sugar syrup, modified starch, sugar, glucose syrup, starch, 5% licorice juice, flavors, vegetable oil (sunflower). Coating agent: carnauba wax.
